From Good To Excellent

This is the first posting on my “From Good to Excellent” blog.  The intent of this blog is to help you achieve excellence in all that you do.  I am on my own journey to excellence and I look forward to hearing from you as we explore together what it means to be excellent and how it can impact your life.

I think back six years ago to a time when the U.S. was in a state of shock and grief beyond anything we had previously experienced, including in my opinion, the death of President Kennedy.   

As I reflect on the six year anniversary of the September 11^th attacks, I think about how our country came together right after that time.  Church going and volunteering were up dramatically.  We all pulled together including Congress singing “God Bless America” together on the steps of the Capitol.  I look at our country six years later:  a divisive war in Iraq, Democrats fighting Republicans and Republicans fighting Democrats, the racial divide continues and on and on…

Yet, I have hope – hope that we can come together as a country, as states, as cities, as communities and as individuals to reach out to others.  Loving, serving and taking action to be all we can be, while helping others… That is what being excellent is all about.
